On Friday 7th October 2016, Thanet Business Network ran a charity golf day in aid of East Kent Independent Dementia Support (EKIDS) and were delighted to have raised £1070 pounds thanks to the help of many generous members, local business and golfers.
One of our members, Ian Lodge of Broadbiz Web Services came up with the idea and very much drove the idea from start to finish with the day taking place at the wonderful North Foreland Golf Club.
With representation from local businesses Oakwood Homes, Thanet Wanderers RUFC, The Grassmaster and Broadstairs Business Club along with Thanet Business Network members a total of 38 players took to the course.
North Foreland Golf Club also very kindly reduced their fee by £10 per player to allow us to raise more money for charity. Our thanks goes out to North Foreland GC.
There were a series of winners across the day with the overall winner being Francesco Valles playing on the Gap In The Market team coming out on top.
Thanet Business Network donated £380 which was £10 for every player that took part and after the evening meal, a raffle and auction was held which raised a further £690.
All proceeds were in aid of EKIDS whose chairman, Lee Jackson (pictured right above) is also a member of Thanet Business Network. The cheque was gratefully received by Torben Hilligsoe, EKIDS treasurer pictured left above.
